Hamilton College water feature

Manufacturing is an area where Water Structures truly distinguishes itself because it is at this stage that the complete water feature structure is made and tested. This unique manufacturing process begins with the creation of an exact mold which is made from approved project shop drawings. From this mold a seamless fiberglass shell is made. The mold is then laser fitted with a structural steel support frame. The complete fiberglass shell with its integral steel frame is then pulled from the mold. The free-standing water feature is then connected to its pre-plumbed equipment pack and is water tested. It is important to note here that this process is not a mock-up or simulation; this is the actual water feature and its equipment that is tested. This distinction is very important because any unforeseen problems are picked up in the shop where adjustments are easily and correctly made. We at Water Structures feel there is no substitution for this kind of true testing and quality control.

After the test, the water feature can be stored at Water Structures where it will be ready when the contractor needs it. Water Structures’ true prefabrication process saves time and money during installation, it also protects the owner and architect from the embarrassment of a non-functioning water feature on opening day.
